Refund Policy

Fair and Transparent: We strive to provide clear, fair refund terms. Please read this policy carefully before enrolling in courses.

1. Overview

At Crash Course Driving Lessons, we are committed to providing high-quality driving education. We understand that circumstances change, and we have established this refund policy to be fair to both our students and our business operations.

This policy applies to all courses and services offered by Crash Course Driving Lessons. By enrolling in our courses, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Course Cancellation by Student

2.1 Before Course Commences

If you need to cancel your enrollment before your first scheduled lesson:

More than 7 days before first lesson

Refund: 100% full refund of course fees

Processing: Refund issued within 7 business days

3-7 days before first lesson

Refund: 50% of course fees

Deduction reason: Administrative costs and lost scheduling opportunity

Processing: Refund issued within 10 business days

Less than 72 hours before first lesson

Refund: No refund available

Reason: Insufficient time to fill the schedule slot

Alternative: May transfer enrollment to another person (subject to approval)

2.2 After Course Has Started

If you wish to discontinue your course after lessons have begun:

  • Refund calculation: Based on unused lessons minus administrative fee
  • Administrative fee: €25 to cover processing and administrative costs
  • Completed lessons: Charged at full rate (non-refundable)
  • Unused lessons: Refunded at the pro-rata rate minus administrative fee
Example Calculation:

Course: Urban Driving Essentials (€199 for 12 hours)

Completed: 4 hours of lessons

Unused: 8 hours of lessons

Refund calculation:
Cost per hour: €199 ÷ 12 = €16.58/hour
Unused lessons value: 8 hours × €16.58 = €132.64
Administrative fee: €25
Total refund: €132.64 - €25 = €107.64

2.3 Refund Processing Time

All approved refunds will be processed within:

  • Bank transfers: 5-10 business days
  • Credit/debit card: 10-14 business days (depends on your bank)
  • Cash payments: 7 business days (by arrangement)

3. Individual Lesson Cancellations

3.1 Student-Initiated Cancellations

For individual lesson cancellations:

  • 24+ hours notice: Lesson can be rescheduled at no charge
  • 12-24 hours notice: Rescheduling available, but may be subject to availability
  • Less than 12 hours notice: Lesson may be counted as completed (charged)
  • No-show: Lesson counted as completed (charged)

3.2 Emergency Exceptions

We understand that genuine emergencies occur. Late cancellations may be excused without penalty in cases of:

  • Sudden illness (medical certificate may be required)
  • Family emergency
  • Accident or vehicle breakdown preventing arrival
  • Severe weather conditions making travel unsafe

Emergency exceptions are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us as soon as possible if an emergency arises.

3.3 Instructor-Initiated Cancellations

If we need to cancel a lesson due to instructor availability, vehicle maintenance, or other circumstances:

  • You will be notified as soon as possible
  • The lesson will be rescheduled at your convenience
  • No charges will apply
  • No deduction from your course hours

4. Non-Refundable Items

The following items are non-refundable once provided:

  • Course materials: Printed handouts, study guides, or digital resources
  • Administrative fees: Enrollment processing and record-keeping costs
  • Completed lessons: Any lessons already taken
  • Discounted promotions: Special promotional rates (may have separate terms)

5. Course Suspension (Not Cancellation)

If you need to temporarily suspend your course rather than cancel completely:

  • Suspension period: Up to 6 months from date of suspension request
  • Fee: No additional fee for suspension
  • Resumption: Resume at your convenience within the 6-month period
  • Expired suspension: After 6 months, standard refund policy applies if you wish to cancel

This option is ideal for students with temporary circumstances (travel, work commitments, health issues) who intend to complete their course.

6. Transfer of Enrollment

In some circumstances, you may transfer your course enrollment to another person:

  • Approval required: Must be approved by Crash Course Driving Lessons
  • Transfer fee: €15 administrative fee
  • Same course: Must be the same course for which you enrolled
  • Transferee requirements: New student must meet all enrollment requirements
  • Completed lessons: Cannot be transferred; only unused lessons

7. Course Cancellation by Crash Course

In the rare event that we need to cancel a course:

  • Full refund: 100% refund of all fees paid
  • Alternative options: Transfer to another available course at no additional cost
  • Notification: You will be notified immediately
  • Compensation: We will work with you to minimize any inconvenience

8. Force Majeure

In cases of circumstances beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, etc.):

  • Lessons will be suspended until safe to resume
  • No refunds will be automatically issued
  • Courses will be extended or rescheduled
  • Alternative arrangements (online theory sessions, etc.) may be offered
  • If circumstances persist beyond 3 months, refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis

9. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit Written Request

  • Your full name and contact information
  • Course enrollment details
  • Reason for refund request
  • Preferred refund method
Step 2: Confirmation

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and confirm:

  • Eligibility for refund
  • Refund amount calculation
  • Expected processing time
Step 3: Processing

Once approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within the timeframe specified in this policy.

10. Refund Method

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original transaction:

  • Bank transfer: To the account from which payment was made
  • Credit/debit card: To the card used for payment
  • Cash: By arrangement (in person or bank transfer)

If the original payment method is no longer available, please contact us to arrange an alternative method.

11. Disputes and Appeals

If you disagree with a refund decision:

  • We will review your appeal and respond within 5 business days
  • Our decision after review will be final

12. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Students enrolled before changes take effect will be governed by the policy in place at the time of their enrollment.

13. Consumer Rights

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under Spanish and European consumer protection laws. If you believe your consumer rights have been violated, you may contact the Spanish Consumer Protection Agency or seek independent legal advice.
